Held on June 4, 2026.

Speaker: Danil Franko, clinical psychologist and art therapist.

The webinar opened with Danil Franko focusing on compassion fatigue and burnout in caregiving professions - doctors, teachers, social workers, therapists, and family caregivers. He stressed that caring for others does not make someone immune to burnout; it often makes them more vulnerable.

Franko explored the emotional contradictions caregivers face: guilt for feeling exhausted, shame for wanting to withdraw, and the belief that their own needs must always come last. He shared clinical examples and art-therapy interventions where caregivers depicted themselves as empty vessels, burnt-out candles, or machines running on autopilot.

A substantial part of the session was devoted to boundaries and sustainable empathy. Franko introduced the concept of “compassion with limits” and led a guided art exercise in which participants visualized a protective shield that still allowed connection without self-erasure.

He concluded that caring for others begins with caring for oneself - not as selfishness, but as maintenance. Without that, burnout becomes not only a personal crisis but a systemic risk for anyone who depends on the caregiver’s presence.
